DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The National Weather Service Office in Duluth has issued an Ice Storm Warning for northern Lake and Cook County from 6 a-m Thursday to 6 a-m on Friday.
Significant icing and strong winds up to 40 miles per hour could result in power outages and tree damage and make travel nearly impossible.
Most of the remainder of northeast Minnesota and the Arrowhead will be under a Winter Weather Advisory for mixed precipitation and some ice and snow accumulation.
Although the Twin Ports area is not included in the advisory area, rain will continue with a chance of freezing rain and snow Thursday night into Friday.
Strong winds and falling temperatures are also expected across the region.
There is a Gale Warning is up for Lake Superior for all of Thursday.
