GREAT SCOTT TOWNSHIP, MN (KDAL) – Several area fire departments responded to the 5100 block of Country Road in Great Scott Township Wednesday afternoon on a reported house fire.
When crews arrived, smoke was observed coming from the roof of the structure. The homeowners were contacted and all family members were accounted for.
The home was determined to be a total loss and the Red Cross is assisting in finding temporary housing.
The family pets, a cat and a rabbit perished in the fire.
At this time the cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
Firefighters from the Kinney/Great Scott Township, Mountain Iron and Chisholm Fire Departments were on the scene to battle the blaze.
