DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The City of Duluth has special dumpsters at five locations around town for the disposal of collected road sand and salt.
By sweeping up the sand and salt left on boulevards, sidewalks and gutters, you will help to keep area streams and waterways clean and the water quality high.
Over the last several years over 15 tons of road sand has been dropped off at collections sites.
The dumpsters are located at Wheeler Field, the Piedmont Community Center, the Duluth Heights Community Center, Chester Park and Portman Park.
The drop off sites open on Monday (4-27) and will be available for the next three weeks.
The sites are also monitored for illegal dumping. Remember brush and other yard waste can be taken to the Resource Renew (WLSSD) yard waste disposal site.
