DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Heavy smoke from fires that continue to burn in northeastern Minnesota is spreading into the Twin Ports area and northwest Wisconsin.
An Air Quality Alert is in effect until 11 a-m on Friday and is expected to reach the hazardous category.
Sensitive groups such as those with lung and heart disease, children and older adults should stay indoors and keep activity levels low.
The general public should also avoid all physical activities outdoors in these smoky conditions.
The smoke is expected to spread further south and could affect the Twin Cities and into southeastern Minnesota by Wednesday night.
A Heat Advisory is also in effect until 9 p-m on Wednesday.
