DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The City of Duluth has introduced a new sensory-friendly inclusivity kit for those attending City Council meetings.
The kit was donated by Duluth resident Ashlie Castaldo and contains a variety of fidget toys and books designed to support those who benefit from sensory tools and explore themes of inclusion and belonging.
The kits are located near the entrance to the council chambers and those attending can borrow any of the items while attending the meeting and are asked to return them for others to use.
Sensory inclusion helps create environments where those with autism, ADHD, anxiety, dementia and other conditions can more comfortably participate in community activities.
