DULUTH, MN (CBS-3) – On a 7-2 vote, Duluth City Councilors awarded a contract to an architecture firm that will now do a pre-design for chalet and campground renovations at Spirit Mountain.
City leaders hope that will make the ski hill more likely to receive state bonding money next year.
Also at Monday’s meeting, councilors decided to table until their next meeting a resolution calling for the city to forgive up to $900,000 of Spirit Mountains’s debt.
Mayor Larson’s new plan to invest $24 million into Spirit Mountain will also be taken up at future council meetings.
