SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) – On Thursday the City of Superior is holding Tribute Tree and Bench dedication ceremonies at various sites around the city.
Over 925 trees have been planted since the Tribute Tree program began 26 years ago.
It gives organizations and individuals a way to honor loved ones or milestones while enhancing boulevards and parks.
Several years ago, a Bench program was also begun where sponsored benches are placed along trails, in parks and other places where a seating need is identified.
This year 12 new trees and 2 benches will be placed in ceremonies conducted by Mayor Jim Paine and members of the Urban Forestry Tree Board and the Parks and Recreation Commission.
