DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Beginning June 8, the intersection of Midway Road and North Cloquet Road in Midway Township will undergo significant work to improve safety and visibility for travelers.
During construction, both Midway Road and North Cloquet Road will be closed.
Detours will be posted for the more than 7,000 vehicles that travel this way on an average day. Traffic on Midway Road will be detoured through Proctor, using I-35, Boundary Avenue and Highway 2. Travelers on the east side of North Cloquet Road will be detoured to Lindahl and Stark Roads. For traffic on the west side of North Cloquet Road, there is no posted detour, but several alternative local route options.
The intersection was the site of seven crashes since 2021.
