July 23 (Reuters) – Aerolineas Argentinas said on Thursday it will add 20 new aircraft to its fleet, marking the state airline’s largest revamp in a decade as it seeks to renew a quarter of its total fleet and 60% of its long-haul operations.
• The 2027 to 2031 plan will be financed entirely with the airline’s own resources, the Argentine carrier said.
• Contracts with lessors for 14 aircraft formalized at Farnborough Airshow, including six Airbus A330neo widebodies and eight Boeing 737 MAX 10 narrowbodies.
• Six Boeing 737 MAX 8 jets complete the 20-aircraft program; two already contracted, four currently in process.
• First delivery, a 737 MAX 8, expected in early 2027; A330neos to enter the fleet from the first half of 2028.
• “The signing of these agreements at Farnborough is a clear message of confidence from the industry in our company,” Aerolineas Argentinas CEO Fabian Lombardo said.
• Lombardo added the deals reflected long-term planning focused on efficiency and profitability.
