DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The St. Louis County Board, Sheriff Gordon Ramsay and Arrowhead EMS honored nearly three dozen emergency responders and 911 staff on Tuesday.
The honors were for three separate incidents where a life was saved that occurred less than a week apart.
On May 27th in Morse Township, responders restored vital signs on scene and kept the patient stabilized during transport to the hospital.
Then on May 30th, Emergency 911 staff successfully provided instructions to a son who performed CPR on his father until responders arrived.
The third event was on June 1st when the Ely Area Ambulance and Morse Township first responders assisted in providing life support measures to revive and stabilize a patient before transporting to a hospital.
The Sheriff Department’s Emergency Support Services Administrator, Dewey Johnson, says during the summer months the 911 team assisted with 42 thousand incidents that connected people to the responders needed to help.
Johnson also noted that the majority of response agencies in St. Louis County are volunteers.
