DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – On Tuesday night, the City of Duluth issued a boil water notice for residents in the upper Woodland and Kenwood neighborhoods.
A brief, but significant, drop in water pressure was noted in that portion of the water system.
While necessary tests to determine the safety of the water are conducted, residents in that area are asked to boil all drinking water until further notice.
Drinking and cooking water should be brought to a full boil for a minute or longer and then cooled before using. Bottled water is another option.
Tap water in the area can still be used for non-consumption uses such as laundry and showering.
The City will distribute results of the water tests when they become available.
The affected area, shown on map, is described as follows: Woodland Avenue above East Anoka Street and Hastings Drive, to include Claymore Street up to Jean Duluth Road; and Howard Gnesen Road from Maryland Street to Norton Road, to include Norton Road, North Road, Middle Road, MacFarlane Road, Northridge Drive, Lindzie Road, and Maryland to Warren Avenue.
