LAKE VERMILION, MN (KDAL) – The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department and other first responders were sent to the 3600 block of Black Bay Road on Lake Vermilion after reports that numerous people were thrown from boats into the water following an accident.
Three people were taken from the scene by ambulance and one was later airlifted to a hospital in Duluth.
A fourth person was pronounced dead after life saving efforts by medical personnel were unsuccessful.
The cause and other details of the crash, that occurred near Manbeck Island, are being investigated.
The accident was reported at 6:22 p-m on Tuesday.
The name of the victim is being withheld pending family notification.
