TWO HARBORS, MN (KDAL) – The Stewart Trail wildfire, that began Friday about 3 miles north of Two Harbors, was considered to be 62 percent contained as of Sunday night.
The Minnesota Incident Command System says the fire covers about 355 acres and has destroyed 8 primary and 26 outbuildings.
Rain on Sunday night and diminishing winds on Monday will help fire crews contain the blaze that shut down a portion of Highway 61 from Two Harbors to Castle Danger over the weekend. Additional rain is expected Monday night.
Lake County also implemented the Ready, Set, Go evacuation notification plan.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
