Aug 11 (Reuters) – Republican voters in Alabama on Tuesday picked state representative Rhett Marques to be their candidate in November’s election for the state’s 2nd District U.S. House seat, after the party redrew the electoral map and hopes to flip the area won by the Democrats in 2024.
The Republican nominee will face Democrat Shomari Figures, who is hoping for a second term in the seat where a Supreme Court decision allowed the use of a pro-Republican congressional map.
